Reducing the use of packaging and optimizing management processes are objectives of MARR which selects packaging materials with low environmental impact and promotes the use of certified materials, coming from responsibly managed sources or with raw materials from recycling.
In order to reduce the environmental impact associated with the use of packaging, MARR intervenes with operational solutions that concern various aspects of its process, such as, for example, the reduction of the weight and volume of the packaging and delivery to some destinations with roll containers.
The secondary cardboard packaging used by MARR for the preparation of deliveries is made up of 100% recycled material or, alternatively, is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified.
For the packaging of private label products, MARR promotes the use of recycled or FSC certified packaging and the inclusion of the environmental label in graphic form to facilitate disposal and recovery operations, in compliance with the provisions of Legislative Decree 116 /2020.
At the fresh seafood distribution platform in Rimini, the polystyrene crates used for the distribution of fresh seafood products, once used, are destined for recovery through a compacting machine which allows to obtain a 100% recycled, recyclable and reusable semi-finished product for the production of new products, becoming in all respects a secondary raw material.
