These requisites are guaranteed by the stipulation of supply specifications and by specific control plans.

MARR intends to progressively strengthen its commitment through an increasingly ethical and responsible approach to purchasing policies and undertakes, by the end of 2025, to ensure that all private label products comply with additional specific requirements:

  • eggs and egg products from cage-free hens
  • Palm oil free or RSPO certified (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil)
  • Cocoa and coffee Rainforest Alliance Certified, Fairtrade Certified or equivalent certifications

MARR is an associate member of the RSPO supply chain, Fairtrade licensee for coffee and collaborates with the Rainforest Alliance.

Contrast to deforestation

Forests and their ecosystem services safeguard, in addition to the growing food demand correlated to the global demographic increase and the consequent need of available lands for agricultural and breeding activities, have made necessary an effective action from the European legislator, concretely manifesting it through the emanation of the EU Regulation 2023/1115 (European Deforestation Regulation). In this context, MARR disseminates the principles of the EUDR Regulation and promotes their implementation along the supply chain. Indeed, MARR believes that knowledge, collaboration and cooperation in relation to the contrast of deforestation with a view on ecosystems safeguard are essential aspects in business relations with its suppliers.
