The activity of the Company kicks off in Rimini, at the time under the corporate name of M.A.R.R., Magazzini Alimentari Riuniti Riminesi, for the supply and distribution of food products to restaurants and hotels on the Romagna Riviera.
The Cremonini Group enters into the capital of MARR.
MARR begins the wholesale trade (sales to wholesalers) of fish products.

In February, the contract for the lease of the activities of Minerva Srl, a company operating on Lake Garda and with a strong specialization in the distribution of fresh and frozen seafood products, was signed.
In July the final contract was signed for the purchase of Emi.Gel, a company based in Bentivoglio (Bologna) and operating in the distribution of food products to bars and quick service restaurants.
The Baldini Adriatica Pesca and Minerva going concerns are purchased.

Lease of going concern for the activities of Scapa Italia S.p.A. (“Scapa”).
On 23 February 2013, the lease contract for the going concern of Scapa Italia S.p.A. (“Scapa”) took effect, through which MARR took over the management of the distribution centers of Marzano (Pavia) and Pomezia (Rome): two large, modern and excellently located structures. The Marzano center has a total area of 22,000 sqm, of which 11,700 at controlled temperatures, while the Pomezia warehouse has a surface area of 11,000 sqm of which 4,800 at controlled temperatures. MARR concentrates the logistics and distribution activities of its National Account customers (operators of Canteens and Structured Commercial Catering) on these structures, further rationalizing the activities dedicated to the Street Market segment carried out by its other distribution centres. The Scapa transaction also allows MARR to access a significant customer portfolio in the Canteens segment (segment in which Scapa positioned itself as a primary operator with important international customers) and in the Structured Commercial catering segment, thus strengthening its leadership.

On 12 March the contract for the purchase of the Scapa going concern was signed, the activities of which MARR had managed since 2013 with a company lease contract.
On 31 March 2014 MARR S.p.A. sells its shares (equal to 55% of the share capital) of Alisea, a limited liability consortium company to CIR Food Cooperativa Italiana di Ristorazione. Following the sale by MARR S.p.A. of the entire investment in Alisea - a company operating in the catering sector for hospitals and whose total revenues in 2013 amounted to 14.8 million euros - the activities of the MARR Group focus on supplies to the Foodservice.
On 28 May 2014, the subsidiary Sfera S.p.A. signs the purchase contract for the "Lelli" going concern whose activities he had already managed since 3 September 2012 through a going concern lease agreement. Subsequently, the subsidiary leased the "Lelli" going concern to MARR S.p.A. which manages it, starting from 1 November 2014, through the new MARR Bologna distribution unit, based in Anzola dell'Emilia.
On 1 June 2014 occurred the merger by incorporation of the subsidiary EMI.GEL S.r.l. in the subsidiary New Catering S.r.l., with tax and accounting effects from 1 January 2014.
Acquisition of SAMA S.r.l. company operating in the quick service segment.
On 1 June 2015, SAMA S.r.l was acquired, a company based in Zola Pedrosa (Bologna), specialized in the distribution of food products to bars and quick service restaurants. With a turnover of over 6 million Euros in 2014 and a sales organization of over 10 salesmen, SAMA is a reference in the distribution to bars in the areas of Bologna, Modena and Reggio Emilia.
Acquired DE.AL. operating in the Foodservice distribution with the "PAC FOOD" brand.
On 4 April, DE.AL., a company based in Abruzzo operating in food distribution to the Foodservice with the "PAC FOOD" brand, was acquired. With over 60 million Euros in sales and a distribution center covering over 7 thousand square meters located in Elice (Pescara), it strengthens MARR's presence in the mid-Adriatic. On 1 October – by virtue of the lease of the “PAC Food” going concern from DE.AL Srl to MARR S.p.A. – the activity of the MARR Adriatico branch begins.
Speca Alimentari, a Baveno (Verbania) company located on Lake Maggiore, was acquired on 30 December. With over 11 million Euros of sales on an annual basis, an experience of over 30 years in food distribution and a distribution center of over 2 thousand square meters located to serve the western part of Lake Maggiore, it strengthens MARR's presence in the area. On 1 January 2017 – by virtue of the lease of the going concern of Speca Alimentari S.r.l. to MARR S.p.A. – the activity of the MARR Speca Alimentari distribution unit begins.
Purchased 34% of the shares of Jolanda de Colò S.p.A.
On 13 November MARR S.p.A purchased 34% of the shares of Jolanda de Colò S.p.A. by Intrapresa S.r.l. and at the same time signed with the company ABA S.r.l. of the Pessot - de Colò family, which holds 66% of Jolanda de Colò, an irrevocable agreement which assigns MARR - starting from 31 March 2022 - the option to purchase a majority stake in Jolanda de Colò. This agreement also provides for a call option mechanism for MARR and a put option for ABA on the remaining 33% of the share capital of Jolanda de Colò. Through this operation, MARR enters into a partnership with the Pessot – de Colò family, confirmed at the helm of Jolanda de Colò, in the development of the premium segment of food supplies to the Foodservice. Jolanda de Colò is in fact one of the main national operators in the premium (high-end) segment with over 21 million euros in sales in 2018 and approximately 5,000 customers served with over 2,000 products of culinary excellence. Jolanda de Colò founded in 1976 by the Pessot – de Colò family and initially active in the production of meat, over the years it has extended its activity in the distribution of food specialties. In particular, the sale of non-processed products has grown progressively to represent over 70% of sales, of which approximately 90% are concentrated in the Ho.re.ca channel. and about 93% in Italy. Jolanda de Colò operates through a distribution and production center with a covered area of over 6,000 square meters located in Palmanova (Udine).
Acquisition of the companies Antonio Verrini S.rl. and Chef S.r.l.
In April, MARR concluded the acquisition of the companies Antonio Verrini S.rl. and Chef S.r.l. (total revenues of around 55 million euros in 2020) operating in the fresh seafood sector, both on the foodservice market and on the distribution market to end-consumers. The specially established company Antonio Verrini S.r.l. will continue to operate in Liguria and Versilia through the 5 distribution centers it already has and will have the dual objective of further developing the contiguous territories and assisting the MARR distribution units in increasing the level of service, on the product categories that characterize it, in favor of the clientele. The operation, which confirms the precise objective of the MARR Group to strengthen itself in the field of extremely important product categories for Customers and with greater difficulty in management and handling, as well as the ability to consolidate the market through synergistic and functional aggregations to its objectives, including qualitative ones , is strategic for the Group.
Signed a Framework Agreement for the purchase of the shares of Frigor Carni S.r.l.
In the early days of March, MARR signed a binding Framework Agreement for the purchase of all the shares of a newly established company, Frigor Carni S.r.l., to which the assets, excluding the property that will be leased, of Frigor Carni Sas, a company based in Montepaone Lido (Catanzaro) and operating in the marketing and distribution of food products to the foodservice. Frigor Carni, founded more than 40 years ago by the Viscomi family, with over 13 million euros in sales in 2021 (there were around 16 million in 2019, before the pandemic), around 800 customers served and 15 delivery vehicles, is the reference operator in Calabria and in particular in an area, the Ionian one, with a strong tourist vocation. The company's commercial proposal is characterized by a significant specialization in the offer of seafood products, aimed mainly at customers of independent foodservice. MARR, which already operates in the area from its MARR Calabria distribution unit in Spezzano Albanese (Cosenza), through the Frigor Carni distribution unit, located in Montepaone Lido, is going to strengthen its presence in the area, thus being able to raise the level of service to customers and the offer of local products. The acquisition of Frigor Carni confirms MARR's market aggregator role, which continues to strengthen its leadership both through a path of organic growth and bolt-on acquisitions, aimed at increasing service specialization.
